Korova Milkbar was formed in 1982 in Stockholm, Sweden as a protopunk/psych unit by Patrik Söderberg, Jan Lilja, Håkan Fischer and Per Lindqvist. Per Lindqvist left the band in 1988 to pursue a career in law and was replaced by Jörgen Bergman.

Although line-up has remained unchanged ever since then the music has gravitated towards a more postrock approach over time.

The first album “ Super Sonic Death Trip” was released in 1988 on their own label Korova Milkbar Music ( KMM) The record received praise and was spotlighted in national radio as well as the in all the major newspapers and fanzines.

The second album - “ Like Chewing Electricity”” - was released in 1990 on Joker Records, and as always the music was written by the band influenced by protopunk, psychedelic rock and everything related, bands like Velvet Underground and the Stooges comes to mind.

During the these years the band toured extensively in Sweden and neighbouring countries, mainly at alternative venues and festivals. Playing after hours clubs in Berlin, small cafe’s in the deep forests of Norrland as well as live on the Swedish Broadcast radio.

The years 1991 - 2012 saw the release of several albums, later compiled on the album “Listen ,Learn ,Obey”, the band played sporadically at underground venues mainly in and around Stockholm.

2013 -2014 was a period of hibernation and re-charging of interstellar porportions.

2015 was the starting point of a new creative era for the band with string of record releases, the first being “State of Confusion”.

The keyboards returned to the soundscape as well as incorporating “found sounds” to further broaden the sonic palette and the structure of the music started to disintegrate, leaving the traditional forms for a more free approach.

The year 2021 the four song epic “Letters of Indulgence” was released followed by the single “Touch the Sky”.

The 4 track EP “post rock” is released in january 2023.

The autumn 2024 sees the release of “Remission” on CD, the first physical release in like 30 years…

The music is a collective effort, a postrock experience focusing on crossing borders - mashing rock, doom, protopunk, jazz, Gregorian chants and psychedelica, moving away from the traditional forms of rock music.

Korova Milkbar as a live act is an immersive experience, sporadically appearing where you least expect it.
